The Icelandic Sheep
We are proud to have a small flock of Icelandic sheep, known for being a wonderful dual-purpose livestock. These hardy, adaptable sheep thrive in our cooler, northern climate, making them a perfect fit for our farm. Their fleece is a true treasure, offering a wide range of natural colors and shades, from soft whites to rich browns and greys. The wool is prized for its softness, warmth, and durability, making it ideal for crafting a variety of products. In addition to their beautiful wool, our Icelandic sheep also provide flavorful, high-quality meat. These gentle, resilient sheep are an essential part of our farm, offering both sustainable wool and a tasty, nutritious source of protein.
The Chickens
In late fall, we welcomed a lively mixed flock of 9 laying hens to the farm, and they’ve quickly become a favorite part of our daily routine. Their cheerful clucking and curious personalities have filled a space we didn’t even know was missing, adding a new layer of life and joy to the farm. Keeping a watchful eye over them is our fearless guard goose, Pickles. With her vibrant personality, Pickles isn’t just a pretty face—she’s always on alert, ready to chat back when you talk to her and greet you with enthusiasm. But don’t be fooled by her friendly nature—she’s always keeping an eye out for any potential threats, from bald eagles soaring overhead to cars passing by on the road. Together, this little team of hens and their ever-watchful goose make sure everything on the farm stays safe and sound, all while bringing a bit of extra charm and personality to the mix.
The Rex Rabbits
The newest venture on our farm, and certainly a work in progress, is our small but growing herd of Rex rabbits. Currently, we have one doe, Jasmine, and a buck, Porter, but we’re excited to expand come spring. Rex rabbits are known for their sweet, gentle nature and their luxurious, velvet-like pelts, making them a unique addition to our farm. While their soft fur is a beautiful feature, their main role here is to provide a reliable source of clean, sustainable meat for our family and community. We’re looking forward to growing this part of the farm and integrating the rabbits into our regenerative farming practices.
Herd Share
We’re excited to announce that we now offer a goat milk herd share here at the farm! This unique opportunity allows customers to buy into our herd and enjoy fresh, raw goat milk and goat milk products directly from our farm. In return, you’ll have access to everything from fresh milk and classic chevre, delicious pressed and aged cheeses like cheddar. But that’s not all—expect sweet surprises like decadent goat milk caramels and creamy, fresh yogurt. It’s a way to experience the best of what our goats have to offer, all while supporting sustainable, small-scale farming. We can’t wait to share this special journey with you!
